PRETTY TOUGH - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHY A WOMEN'S-ONLY TOURNAMENT?

Many of the sports in the world have a women’s league or division and we don’t see why axe throwing should be any different.  The Pretty Tough tournament is our way of showcasing the skills of the amazing women in the axe community and raising money for the American Cancer Society. Which, like a lot of charitable organizations desperately needs funds to continue to fight against cancer.

WHY THE NAME CHANGE?

While we love the name Rack Attack, we have gone with a more general, more encompassing name that is not only more fitting to the women of the sport, but also to whom we are here to support. The women of axe throwing a Pretty Tough, but so are those dealing with cancer, and their amazing support systems! They’re all Pretty Tough!

WHAT ABOUT COVID-19?

Every precaution, and every guideline will be strictly adhered to during the event. We cannot predict the future and where the world will be in December, so we have a backup February 2021 date. We will also not be taking ticket payments until we are sure we can host this amazing event safely.

HOW DO I SIGN UP?

Register online here, and we’ll be sending invoices for payment once we have confirmation of the event being allowed to take place (COVID-19 regulations).

Invoices will be sent on a first-registered/first-sent basis. If you were unable to complete payment within the 48 hours, you will need to re-register to have an updated invoice sent.

Register today and be sure not to miss out.

I'M A GUY, DOES THAT MEAN I CAN'T COMPETE?

While we appreciate your interest in competing, this is a tournament to help promote the women in the sport of axe throwing.  We also host other tournaments through the year which anyone can enter, regardless of gender.  Stay tuned on our social media or sign up for our newsletter.  If you would like to show your support for Pretty Tough 2020, you can volunteer or donate.  Email info@agawamaxe.com with your inquiry.

WHAT DOES THE ENTRY FEE COVER?

We’re glad you asked! Your $100 donation entitles you to discounted axe throwing on the Friday, discounted Party tickets to Pour Bar & Lounge, your own Rack Attack 2020 official player’s tee, and 5% of your entry will be donated to the American Cancer Society as part of our efforts to support this organization.

WHAT ABOUT MINORS?

Our Town has not allowed Minors to throw axes at the Agawam Axe House. We are, however, working with the Town to prove how safe the sport it, how much kids enjoy it, and at the very least hope we can convince them to allow minors in The Pretty Tough Tournament. TBD, basically.

WHAT'S THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

At the time the invoices are issued there will be no refunds. If you can no longer attend the event before you receive your invoice simply don’t pay the invoice and your spot will be given to the next in line. Once you make your payment, it is final.

WHERE THE HELL IS AGAWAM?

Right? Well, we’re a town in Western Massachusetts. Located approximately 2 hours west of Boston. 40 minutes north of Hartford, CT and famous for having the lowest zip code in the US.

The average temperature in December is 38oF/22oC. So, bring cold weather gear if you’re coming from a warmer climate.

HOW CAN I HELP?

We’ll be needing volunteers for various duties and would love to have the community help us achieve this! Let us know, reach out via email at info@agawamaxe.com if you’re interested in helping, and we’ll get back to you. Thank you!

WHAT IF I IDENTIFY AS A WOMAN?

Anyone who identifies as a female is absolutely welcome to register for this tournament.
